"Hans Roth Saubermacher Umweltstipendium 07"

Saubermacher director KR Hans Roth considers the scholarship as a thank you to the universities for the previous good cooperation and partnership. He is convinced that Saubermacher as a company is not only obligated to achieve business success but also to the same degree has a social responsibility! Consequently he would like support primarily the next generation in the area of sustainable disposal and waste management.

One option is the “Hans Roth Saubermacher Umweltstipendium”, which has been offered at three Austrian universities this year for the second time (Montan University of Leoben, Karl Franzens University Graz, Vienna University of Technology). The entire environment scholarship has been endowed with three awards at 2,000 Euros each and is granted to three young researchers of the next generation for particularly outstanding scientific papers in connection with environmental protection and waste management. Since in addition to the three award-winning papers another paper has been convincing this year, Saubermacher decided to grant a special award this year in addition to the three scholarships.

Therefore a total of four scholarships have been awarded this year.

The final selection meeting of the jury for the "Hans-Roth-Saubermacher Umweltstipendium" took place on Thursday, 12 April 2007 in Vienna in the Steirerstöckl inn. After long professional discussions, the four award winners were selected in a joint decision of the jury. The jury members included top-class personalities such as SC DI Dr. Leopold Zahrer (FM of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management), Dr. Christian Smoliner (Federal Ministry of Education and Research), DI Franz Maier (Veitsch Radex GmbH & Co) as well as Ernst Locher (Fernwärme Wien – plant manager Simmeringer Haide) in representation of Mr. DI Dr. Krobath.
