Start-up of high-tech splitting facility in Vienna
With the start-up of its new splitting facility in Vienna, SAUBERMACHER does pioneer work in the field of environmentally friendly disposal of waste once again. In the new high-tech facility in Oberlaa industrial waste is optimally prepared for ecologically and economically reasonable recycling. The opening is the last point of an intensive investment program in the amount of € 17 million for the implementation of the Landfill Directive.
About € 2 million have been invested – and now, the new splitting facility in Vienna with about 140 employees has been officially opened in the presence of the Minister for Economic Affairs, Dr. Martin Bartenstein and numerous further illustrious guests from the field of environment and economy.
Data and facts:
The new facility enables the specific separation and sustainable recycling of about 35.000 t industrial waste from Vienna and the surrounding area according to its calorific value and quality.
Every day, more than 150 tons of waste are delivered
Up to 24 tons of waste are treated per hour
The waste is reduced to small pieces with a maximum size of 500 mm.
A spraying system provides for the dust control and thus for the maximal reduction of the dust development.
Two electromagnets provide for the separation of all scrap metals from the waste and therefore for the recovery of an important raw material for the steel industry.
After splitting, the pure waste fractions are prepared for further treatment in the facility according to their calorific value and quality - either as raw material for the production of high-quality alternative fuels for the cement industry in the ThermoTeam plant in Retznei/Styria, as alternative fuels ready to burn for fluidized bed facilities or as material for the mechanical-biological treatment.
