Saubermacher wins the TRIGOS

On May 20, 2010, within the scope of a celebratory gala at the Old University in Graz, Styrian businesses were awarded the TRIGOS Styria for their social and ecological responsibility (Corporate Social Responsibility) in the categories workplace, market, society and ecology.

Saubermacher won this much sought-after award in the category "society" for the third time running, by impressing the Jury with their initiative "Restlos genießen", a co-operation between Saubermacher Dienstleistungs AG, award-winning chef Heinz Reitbauer and Plenty, market leader in kitchen paper.

The initiative, "Restlos genießen", an idea thought up by Saubermacher CEO, Hans Roth, is committed to issues around sustainable living and awareness with foodstuffs and paper products. The background for the initiative is a study done by the University of Agriculture in Vienna, which showed that every year per person 150 Euros’ worth of usable products are thrown away. A large number of these products are in their original packaging or are only partially consumed foodstuffs such as eggs, dairy products, vegetables, bread and even meat. This means that 1.25 billion’s worth ends up as waste. There is no need for this and thus the first kitchen roll book, recipes for leftovers from Plenty, was born.
